Save an email as PDF, in your browser
Drop an EML, MSG or MBOX file below. SaveMail opens the message with its headers, inline images and attachments and lets you save it as a searchable PDF. Nothing is uploaded, no account, free.
Save as PDF opens your browser's print dialog: choose "Save as PDF" as the destination. Text in the PDF stays selectable and searchable.
How it works
What you get
- A clean page with From, To, Cc, Date, Subject and Message-ID, then the message body with inline images.
- Text stays selectable and searchable in the PDF: it is rendered from the message, not screenshotted.
- Attachments listed with sizes; download any of them or all as ZIP.
- Compact mode hides quoted replies and signatures for shorter PDFs.
Private by design
No upload endpoint exists. The file is read with the File API in the tab; parsing and rendering happen on the device; closing the tab removes everything. The page works offline once loaded. No account, no email address asked.
What it does not do
- PST and OST (Outlook mailbox files): not readable in the browser; the page explains how to export EML/MSG from Outlook or use Outlook itself
- Password-protected or encrypted messages (S/MIME, PGP) are shown as encrypted, not decrypted
- Editing the email content
- Converting PDF back to email, or email to Word/Excel
Frequently asked questions
How do I save a Gmail email as a PDF?
Fastest without any tool: open the message, click the printer icon and choose Save as PDF. To keep attachments and the exact headers, download the message as .eml (three dots menu) and drop it here.
Can it open .msg files from Outlook?
Yes. MSG is Outlook's single-message format; drop it here and the message renders with attachments. Password-protected or encrypted messages are not decrypted.
What about a whole mailbox (MBOX or PST)?
MBOX from Google Takeout or Thunderbird opens here: every message is listed and can be saved one by one. PST files cannot be read in a browser; export EML or MSG from Outlook instead.
Is anything uploaded?
No. There is no upload endpoint on this site. The file is read with the browser's File API and parsed by JavaScript in your tab; closing the tab removes everything.
Why does Save as PDF open a print dialog?
The PDF is produced by your browser's own Save as PDF, which keeps text selectable and lets you choose paper size and margins. There is no server to make a PDF for you.
